More about Stella
I have a lifetime of experience that led me to coaching: A Masters in Coaching and Mentoring from Oxford Brookes University, Level 2 in counselling skills, a Masters in Tourism and Sustainability from the University of the West of England and a BA in Theatre and Communications.
I spent much of my 20s and 30s travelling the globe and working in Greece (teaching English, managing a tourism programme on Skopelos and working for 3 environmental organisations). My passion for the environment brought me to the carbon markets, in which I’ve worked for 17 years, in many different roles from sales, finance, marketing, contracting, portfolio and registry management.
I’m passionate about community; bringing people together to find their shared similarities increases understanding and brings joy to the community, and encouragement to those who need it.
I chaired the board of trustees for my local community association from 2013-16 during which time we developed from a failing social club, rife with cronyism, to a thriving inclusive community hub. To do this required constitutional change, putting in place sound legal structures, consulting the community and building their support to ensure the association thrives and sustains itself. I have since worked as a trustee from 2020-2023 joining again in 2025.
My community work includes establishing (in 2019) and running a women’s networking group which is a safe space for women to come together, share food, a drink and their experiences and celebrate one another’s successes. I also spent two years as a WeightWatchers coach, supporting people through their journey to a healthier happier lifestyle.
I was diagnosed with ADHD in May of 2024. In the lead-up to that (and since), in order to understand the implications of a lifetime of lived experience of ADHD, I have taken multiple courses on this neurodevelopmental condition of the nervous system, learning how it affects people’s minds, bodies and the impact it has socially – I am constantly learning. For my Masters’ dissertation I studied ADHD Coaches’ Experience of Rejection Sensitivity (a condition common in those with ADHD) and the Implications for their Coaching.
In 2020 I joined a group of like-minded women on a journey of discovery into writing. Using a practice devised by Natalie Goldberg known as 'Writing down the Bones', it helped free up my crippling procrastination. I often use writing practice with clients to support their learning.
One of my greatest passions is cooking, eating and sharing nutritious food with others.
